Marlins Team Picnic
The Marlins will be having their annual fall get-together on Sunday, Sept. 19th. We will be meeting at Cerise Park at 3pm. Please bring your own drinks and an appetizer to share with everyone.
We will have time to socialize, and then have a short business meeting. After the meeting the swimmers will go with their respective coaches and the coaches will have time to talk about each swimmer. The coaches will be respectful of the fact that many of you have swimmers in separate groups and try not to talk about your child until you are there.
There is no playground equipment at Cerise, but there are big grassy fields, so please feel free to bring balls, frisbees, etc.
Kathy will have the team pictures at the picnic - so please pick them up from her then.

Ellen's Practices during pool closure
Ellen will have dryland training for her group at Cerise Park. Practice will be:
Tues, Sept 7-Thursday, Sept 9: 5-6pm
Mon, Sept. 13- Thursday, Sept. 16: 5-6pm

Silas' Workouts Week of September 6th
Monday-Enjoy the time with your family
Tuesday-Weights meet in the weight room at 4-5:30pm with shoes and shorts
Wednesday-Find a buddy and go on a run or a long bike ride.
Thursday-Weights meet in the weight room at 4-5:30pm with shoes and shorts
We may swim in Ouray the following week, I will let you know.

Meet Schedule Posted
The Majority of the Fall/Winter Meet Schedule is posted below. The meet information for Aspen and Durango is available also.
As a competitive swim team we are going to highly encourage all swimmers to participate in WSL Champs in February. Additionally, if you swimmer qualifies for Silver State or State JO’s in a number of events, we will ask that you make a commitment to attend these meets as well. This commitment should match the work put in by your swimmer and the coaching staff. Please make this a priority in your winter scheduling.

All Marlin Swimmers Are Needed for Triathlon
The Triathlon is held on Saturday October 2. Montrose/Olathe Elementary students compete in the School Cup which starts at 7am. Middle/High School/Adults compete in the Black Canyon Sprint Tri which starts at 8am.
Swimmers in Ellen, Lars, or Suzi's Group - we highly encourage you to find two other friends and make a team and compete in the School Cup! For more information check out the website site: bctri.com/schoolcup. Maps and Registration forms are available there.
Swimmers in Middle and High School - we highly encourage you to compete in the Black Canyon Triathlon - held the same day but open to everyone. For more information check out the website site: www.bctri.com. Maps and Registration forms are available there.
For Silas' Swimmers - I would hope that all swimmers would participate in the triathlon. Please sign-up and prepare yourself for the event. If you choose not to participate then the expectations would be that you would be a counter for this event.

Best Times and Time Standards
For those of you who are looking for your swimmer's best times or how your swimmer's times compare to the Western Slope Champs or JO Time Standards? You can find that all on the CSI website - www.csi.org. You can look up any swimmer under the Tools/Forms => Swimmers Tools => Find a swimmer link. From there, you can find Best Times, All Available Times, Times from a Meet, you can compare best times with time standards and see the time difference between the time standard and a best time. Check it out!
